IT'S TURMERIC TIME

Has health and well-being ever been more important than now? We have created a fabulous turmeric infusion to help protect your health and support your immune system, through a combination of the best quality raw honey and the superfood turmeric.

Turmeric is a flowering plant, Curcuma longa, of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae, the roots of which have been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic, Indian and Chinese medicines. Honey and turmeric are both potent and important alternatives to conventional medicines because of their antibiotic properties and health benefits. By pairing them we have created an infusion with double the benefits.

Turmeric is a very strong antioxidant herb that cleanses the whole body, especially the liver. It is used to support digestion, treat fever, infections and inflammations. Local raw wildflowers honey is also known to be a powerful immune system booster capable of fighting infection and allergies and nourishing skin.  Together this powerful duo can be used to treat a wide range of ailments from cuts and minor burns; stomach and digestive issues; muscles aches and strains.

Turmeric has important compounds in it, called curcuminoids.  The active ingredient, curcumin, has been proven to have similar effects as anti-inflammatory medicine. We add black pepper to our infusion as it is reported to enhance the bioavailability of curcumin up to a thousand times. We have selected our Emirati Wildflowers raw honey as the carrier honey in the belief this helps with seasonal allergies, adding another benefit to its already impressive list.

With its distinctive bright orange colour, Turmeric has an earthy, almost bitter taste on its own.  This is offset against the natural sweetness of the honey to give a fabulous flavour that packs a peppery punch!

We recommend taking a teaspoon every morning on an empty stomach to boost immunity and balance the stomach. The infused honey mixes well and tastes great with lemon and ginger for added health benefits. It is equally delicious on sweet and savoury items.  Why not try drizzling it over avocado on toast or putting it in sandwiches, paired with cheese or cold meats? If you have more of a sweet tooth, add it to fruit smoothies or as a topping to oatmeal, yoghurt or ice cream.

Our favourite recipe is for a quick and easy health shot:

2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar or lemon juice

1 tablespoon Blossom Honey turmeric infused honey

Stir to combine in a glass and drink!
